CU routs OPSU to start season 2-0
LAWTON, Oklahoma (November 19) – Tonight’s men’s basketball game between the Aggies of Cameron (2-0, 0-0 LSC North) and the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State (0-2, 0-0 Heartland) wasn’t close at all as CU routed OPSU, 79-59. Cameron was in control throughout and held the lead for 39:51 of the 40 minutes in tonight’s game. CU is still undefeated on the season and has outscored their two opponents by an average of 21.5 points this year.

Glasgow leads Aggies to big win
LAWTON, Oklahoma (November 15) – For the moment, Cameron head men’s basketball coach Wade Alexander is the winningest coach in school history. Coach Alexander and the Aggie men (1-0, 0-0 LSC North) stuck it to the Saints of Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (0-5, 0-0 ACCA) tonight in the first game of Coach Alexander’s head coaching career. CU defeated their opponents 73-50 and was in control throughout the game.

Aggies finalize basketball assistants
LAWTON, Oklahoma (August 26) – The Cameron Athletic Department announced this week that it has finalized the two full-time basketball assistant coaching positions for the upcoming 2008-2009 season. In the women’s basketball program Steve Lowe has been hired as head coach Tom Webb’s assistant, while in men’s basketball Nate Gamet has been added as head coach Wade Alexander’s assistant. Lowe and Gamet replace Andrew Belsky and Ryan McAdams, respectively.

ECU’s Alexander chosen to lead Aggies
LAWTON, Oklahoma (June 16) – Wade Alexander, the assistant men’s basketball coach at East Central University (Ada, Oklahoma), a fellow Lone Star Conference school, was officially announced as the new head men’s basketball coach at Cameron University this morning. CU Athletic Director Jim Jackson has finalized the hiring and Alexander has already begun his duties at CU.

Tip-in gives Aggie men big victory
COMMERCE, Texas (February 27) – Tonight in an absolute thriller, the Cameron men’s basketball team (6-20, 4-7 LSC-North) needed overtime and a tip-in with just over a second left on the clock to record their sixth victory of the season. The Aggies had traveled to Commerce, Texas, to battle the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions and came away with a nail-biting victory. The final score was 93-91 as the Aggies won it in the third and final frame. Tonight’s contest was Cameron’s final road game of the season.

Playoffs closer for CU
DURANT, Oklahoma (February 20) – Still needing to record a few more victories in order to clinch a berth in the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament, the Aggie men’s basketball team (5-19, 3-6 LSC-North) tonight took to the road to battle the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm (3-21, 0-9 LSC-North). Cameron’s postseason hopes are still alive after the Aggies put away the Storm, 73-72. The game was very intense and gave CU the season sweep of SOSU.
