CU gets big road win at ECU
ADA, Oklahoma (January 31) – Cameron’s women’s basketball team (5-14, 1-5 LSC-N) picked up a huge Lone Star Conference North Division road win this afternoon over the East Central Tigers (10-9, 2-4 LSC-N). CU dropped ECU in Ada, 72-69, to pick up their first divisional win. The Aggie women stayed three games out of playoff contention with today’s victory.
“It’s nice to go on the road and get a win,” Head Coach Tom Webb said. “Our young ladies played hard and they executed down the stretch late in the game, which was good.”
Cameron led for all but 47 seconds of today’s game and was up by as many as 20 points against the Tigers. The Aggies also out-rebounded ECU 48-38 and had 4 double-digit scorers.
Josie Stewart (19), Luv Rattler (16), Alexis Williams (14), and Tera Tremayne (12) all broke the 10-point barrier this evening.
“It feels good to break through. We did a good job on the glass and that helped us late,” Coach Webb said. “All of our guards did a good job rebounding too. Once you get one win it’s easier to get the second one under your belt. We’re excited to get ready for another one.”
CU returns home this week to host the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs on Wednesday (February 3). That evening the Aggies and SWOSU tip off at 6:00pm in Aggie Gym.
Today’s game was originally scheduled for Saturday (January 30) but was postponed a day due to hazardous road and sever weather conditions.
