Peter SvajlenCU golf ends season, Svajlen advances
AUSTIN, Texas (May 7) – After a very impressive 2008 campaign, the Cameron Aggie men’s golf team ended their season today at the NCAA South/South Central Super Regional Championships. CU had advanced to the event after winning the eighth Lone Star Conference title in school history a few weeks ago in Thackerville, Oklahoma. This week’s event was played at the Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Cameron won the event last season.

Aggie men win LSC Championship
THACKERVILLE, Oklahoma (April 21) – For the seventh time in head coach Jerry Hrnciar's career, the Cameron Aggie men's golf team won a Lone Star Conference Championship. The Aggies were crowned the 2008 Champs today at the LSC's postseason tournament. CU won the event by an impressive eight strokes with an overall team score of 855 (288-284-283). All ten LSC men's golf squads participated in the event, which was played at the WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Oklahoma. CU secured an NCAA Division II Super Regional tournament berth today with the championship victory. The Super Regionals will be played at the Golf Club at Circle C in Austin, Texas (May 5-7).

Hrnciar adds DFW star to Aggie golf
LAWTON, Oklahoma (April 18) – Although there are still a few weeks until the 2007-2008 collegiate athletic season comes to a close, Cameron head men’s golf coach Jerry Hrnciar is already getting ready for the 2008-2009 season. The nationally ranked Aggie men’s golf team is just days away from competing in the annual Lone Star Conference Championship tournament, and today Coach Hrnciar announced the signing of top recruit Garrett Smith. Smith, a senior at Midlothian (Texas) High School, will join the Aggies next season.

Aggies finish 7th in postseason preview
PENSACOLA, Florida (April 8) – Facing off against some of the elite teams from the conference, the region, and the entire nation, the Aggie men’s golf team this afternoon concluded final round play at the Emerald Coast Collegiate tournament. The tournament was played at the Tiger Point Golf and Country Club in Pensacola, Florida. The event was hosted by West Florida University, the No. 1 men’s golf team in the nation.

CU men’s golf finishes 4th at UCO
EDMOND, Oklahoma (March 25) – With only one tournament to go before postseason play begins, the Aggie men’s golf team this week traveled northeast to take part in the KickingBird Classic tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma. After three rounds in two days, the Aggies took 4th place overall ahead of a number of fellow Lone Star Conference programs.

CU finishes 3rd, Svajlen wins event
THACKERVILLE, Oklahoma (March 11) – The Aggie men’s golf team was not able to hold onto their two-round tournament lead at this week’s Red River Intercollegiate golf tournament as they slipped to 3rd place overall. Cameron was in 1st place after the opening round, remained in 1st place after the second round, but simply could not hold on for the victory. CU finished with an overall team score of 883 (292-286-305).
