This fall has been not the most productive fall for the Aggie baseball program as far as weather was concerned. In the NCAA, baseball is allotted 24 practices in a 45 day window… of the 24 practices, the Aggie baseball team got on the field 15 days for practice and intersquads… the rest of the time we spent in the indoors.
During the fall the Aggie coaching staff saw some good things for the up and coming season, but the down side is most pitchers only threw live 2 or 3 times this fall so we really didn’t know how their endurance and competiveness will be.
This year we played a little different as far as intersquads go. We divided into 3 teams: Coach Powell’s team, Coach Moody’s team, and Coach Holland’s team. The numbers are up on the team; 34 to be exact. Each team had 5 pitchers and 1 catcher and the rest were position players. Coach Moody’s team was 2-0, Holland’s 1-1, Powell’s 0-2.
Right know we are in weight and condition; the Aggies are doing the P90X workout for the second year. It looks like a great workout, at least from the sidelines it does.
Recruiting is underway as well… took a trip to Phoenix and plan to take many more in the fall.
Hope all is well and we’ll talk or CU soon.

This is a first… Coach Holland trying to catch up with the times.
It’s hard to start off the 09-10 season without first wanting to thank all the seniors from last year’s 42-15 record. Not only did we break the records for wins as a team, but many individual records as well. We had two All-Americans in Brad Bichel and Nate Arevalo. All in all, a great year and a pleasure to work with all the fine young men.
In the off season McCord Field had some face lifts as well. We put in a halo around the plate which is used to cut down on the wear and tear of the infield plate area (we are still waiting on the turf). Also we put in lean rallies for in front of the dug-out, and painted the dugout black.
Just trying to get caught up with the times… All we need now is LIGHTS and we should be ready…
Talk to you soon.
