Jackson throws out first pitch
EL DORADO, Kansas (July 28) - Cameron Athletic Director Jim Jackson threw out the first pitch at Saturday's (July 28) Championship Game of the American legion Zone team. Jackson, who originally hails from El Dorado, has twice been inducted into the El Dorado Baseball Hall of Fame; once in 2000 as a member of the 1972 El Dorado American Legion Team and then again in 2003 as an individual.
The Championship Game was dedicated in loving memory to Jackson’s father, James C. Jackson Sr., who passed away just days before the game. Jackson Sr. was an avid baseball fan and served as the American Legion baseball Chairman for many years. He was also the Post 81 (Kansas) Commander for three years.
“It is an honor to throw out the first pitch in the memory of my Dad, the greatest man I have ever known,” Jackson said.
