Ibarra named LSC North Setter of the Week

Freshman setter Vicki Ibarra     RICHARDSON, Texas -- Cameron freshman setter Vicki Ibarra has been named the volleyball Setter of the Week in the Lone Star Conference North Division. A 5-8 native of San Antonio, Texas, Ibarra earned the award for her effort during Cameron’s 2-2 showing at last week’s prestigious Colorado Premier Challenge tournament in Denver.
     Ibarra averaged 11.9 assists per game as the Aggies defeated Mesa State and Regis University and fell to 10th-ranked North Dakota State and No. 15 Metro State. She added 33 digs (2.54 per game), six blocks, six kills and three service aces during the week. In a 3-1 loss to NDSU on Friday, Ibarra handed out 41 assists while registering 16 digs, three kills and a block. For the season, she is averaging 10.85 assists per game.
     Cameron (4-4) is scheduled to continue play at home Wednesday night against Dallas Baptist. First serve at Cameron's Aggie Gym is scheduled for 7 p.m. Coach Kim Vinson's squad also plays at home this weekend, as host of the annual Coca-Cola Classic Invitational. The Aggies will face Western New Mexico University on Friday at 7, then take on Lone Star Conference rival Tarleton State on Saturday at 3.
