Aggie Softball to host weekend festival
LAWTON, Okla. (Sept. 12) -- Coach Gladys Crawford and the Cameron University softball team will get their first look at outside competition this weekend, as the Aggies host the Cameron Fall Festival on Sunday in Lawton. Four teams from around the region will compete in six games beginning at 8:30 a.m., at Cameron Field. Action begins with Western Oklahoma State College taking on the newly formed Midwestern State University squad. Cameron will face Western Oklahoma at 10:30, followed by a 12:30 p.m., matchup with Midwestern State. MSU and Oklahoma Panhandle State will square off at 2:30, followed by a Panhanlde State-Western Oklahoma contest. Action wraps up with the Aggies taking on Panhandle State at 6:30. Admission to the festival if free. Last season, Cameron qualified for Lone Star Conference postseason competition for the first time in school history, posting an overall record of 22-20-2. Crawford was voted the LSC North Division Coach of the Year, as five Aggie players earned postseason honors, including first team all-region selection Karren Hatch.
