Kosick earns third conference player of the week honor

Senior outside hitter Kelsey Kosick     RICHARDSON, Texas -- For the third time this season, Cameron's Kelsey Kosick has been selected as a Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Week in women's volleyball. A senior outside hitter, Kosick was named this week's Defensive Player of the Week for her role in Cameron's 1-1 showing last week, which included a five-set victory over divisional rival Central Oklahoma.
This was the third time Kosick has been honored by league officials already this season. The Fort St. John, British Columbia, native and preseason LSC North Player of the Year was named Hitter of the Week on Sept. 2 and Sept. 29. So far this season, four Aggie players have been awarded a total of seven player of the week awards.
Kosick averaged 5.11 digs per game last week as the Aggies dropped a 3-1 decision to Abilene Christian and defeated Central Oklahoma 3-2. She also added four total blocks and averaged 6.56 kills per game. On the road against Central Oklahoma on Thursday, Kosick posted 29 kills and three blocks, helping the Aggies win in Edmond for the first time since 1999 while ending a three-match losing streak to the Bronchos. She also produced 30 kills in the loss to ACU.
Cameron will continue LSC North divisional play on Thursday, hosting Texas A&M-Commerce in a contest scheduled for 7 p.m., at Cameron's Aggie Gym. Coach Kim Vinson's squad also will be at home Saturday afternoon, taking on Southeastern Oklahoma in a showdown set for 2 p.m.
