Kosick, Aggies dump DBU
DALLAS, Texas (Oct. 28) -- Kelsey Kosick posted a match-high 21 kills on Tuesday, surpassing her own school record for kills in a season, to lead the Cameron volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Dallas Baptist.
The win boosted Coach Kim Vinson's squad to 16-11 on the season, setting the stage for the Aggies' stretch run in the final two weeks of the season as they return to Lone Star Conference North Division play on the road Friday at Southeastern Oklahoma.
Cameron won by scores of 30-18, 23-30, 30-21, 30-24, to stay perfect at 5-0 all-time against the Patriots.
Three other Aggie players posted double-digit kills in the match, led by junior middle blocker Nicole Reinhart, who hit .444 with 14 kills. Reinhart also added two service aces, five digs and six blocks, including one solo stop, in the match. Morgan Meyer added 12 kills, while Taran Turner chipped in 10 kills and six blocks.
Freshman setter Vicki Ibarra posted 47 assists, while junior libero Jenny Head led all players with 22 digs.
As a team, Cameron out-hit Dallas Baptist .255 to .185, marking the 16th time this season the Aggies have posted a higher hitting percentage than their opponents. Cameron is 15-1 this season when leading in that statistical category. The Aggies also posted a season-high 13 team blocks in the match.
Kosick's effort came just hours after earning her fifth conference player of the week award for the season. She was named the LSC North Offensive Player of Week after averaging 6.0 kills per game in two matches last week.

Vinson's squad will visit Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday, before returning home to conclude the regular season with matches against Midwestern State and Texas Woman's on Nov. 7-8.
