RICHARDSON, Texas (Nov. 17) -- Cameron senior Kelsey Kosick has been named the Lone Star Conference North Division volleyball Player of the Year, according to a release by conference officials. A 5-11 outside hitter from Fort St. John, British Columbia, Kosick established eight new school records this season and earned the Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season in voting conducted among the division's six head coaches. In addition to Kosick, four other Aggie players also earned individual postseason recognition in the LSC North. Junior libero Jenny Head earned second team all-conference honors and was named the LSC North Defensive Player of the Year, while freshman setter Vicki Ibarra was named to the all-conference second team, as well, and earned Co-Freshman of the Year honors with Southeastern Oklahoma's Olivia Franceskini. Junior outside hitter Morgan Meyer, along with Kosick, was a first team all-conference selection, while junior middle blocker Nicole Reinhart earned honorable mention. Kosick completed one of the most prolific offensive careers in Cameron history earlier this month, helping lead the Aggies to the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference championships. She also helped Cameron to a No. 10 ranking in the competitive NCAA Division II Southwest Region while establishing school records in nearly every offensive statistical category. Kosick is Cameron's all-time leader in career service aces and single-season kills. She also owns school marks for aces and kills in a single match and career digs per game and has established a new Lone Star Conference record for career service aces per game. This season, Kosick led Cameron and the LSC in service aces per game and kills per game, ranking in the Top 10 nationally in both categories, as well. Kosick also was among the conference leaders in hitting percentage and digs per game. In her first season with the Aggies, Head also put her mark on the Cameron record book, establishing three Aggie highs. The Grande Prairie, Alberta, native set records for single-season digs and digs per game. She also posted a school-record 36 digs in one match this season, as well. Ibarra, a San Antonio product, stepped in nicely to replace graduated all-conference setter Megan Smith by breaking a pair of Smith's school records. Ibarra produced new team highs for total assists and assists per game in a season. Meyer ranked among the Lone Star Conference leaders in kills per game this season and finished second on the team in total kills, kills per game and service aces per game. Meyer was also an honorable mention all-conference pick as a sophomore last season. Reinhart finished the regular season ranked fifth in the conference in blocks per game and was seventh in the league in hitting percentage. The Rosiland, Alberta, native led Cameron starters with a .258 hitting percentage and recorded a total of 128 blocks on the season. She finished third on the team, behind Kosick and Meyer, with 253 kills on the season.
