Cameron's Landry earns academic all-conference honors

RICHARDSON, Texas (Nov. 20) - Cameron University sophomore Jennifer Landry is one of eight players named to this year's Lone Star Conference North Division Volleyball All-Academic team, according to a release by conference officials. Landry was chosen in voting by the league's sports information directors on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.
A 5-10 middle blocker from Flower Mound, Texas, Landry finished this season as the Aggies' team leader in attack percentage. She averaged 1.44 kills per game while hitting at a .267 clip. Landry also added seven service aces, 31 total blocks and 39 digs, helping Cameron reach the semifinals of this year's Lone Star Conference tournament. Cameron finished the season with an overall record of 21-12 and tied for first place in the LSC North with a league record of 8-2.
To be eligible for selection on the Lone Star Conference All-Academic teams, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average with a minimum of 24 credit hours completed at the nominating institution. More than 30 LSC volleyball players were recognized for their academic achievement. The All-Academic team was selected from the list of academically qualified nominees, with all qualifying student-athletes that were not selected to the All-Academic Team named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. A total of 14 players (eight from the North Division and six from the South) were voted to the All-Academic Teams, while another 19 were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
