Lady Aggies fall to No. 9 Drury

LAWTON, Okla. (Nov. 29) - Cameron committed 13 first-half turnovers and shot just 31.7 percent from the field, dropping an 87-51 decision to ninth-ranked Drury University in women's basketball action Saturday in the annual Cameron PowerAde Classic.

Drury raced to a 44-18 halftime lead while limiting the Lady Aggies to just eight first-half field goals. The loss dropped Cameron to 2-2, while Drury improved to 8-1.

Senior Danelle Ladd led the Lady Aggies with 10 points, hitting 4-of-10 from the field. Sophomore Christian Buben added nine points and six rebounds. Cameron, which registered 30 turnovers in a loss to Oklahoma City on Friday, had 21 against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Aggie defense forced 17 Drury turnovers, but could never recover from the slow start that had Cameron trailing by as many as 26 in the opening period.

Drury placed four players in double-digit scoring, led by Amanda Newton's 18. Kara Rutledge led all players with nine rebounds while adding 11 points. Magen Brunson and Amy Belew added 10 points each.

Cameron will look to end a two-game losing skid and get back on the winning track next weekend. The Lady Aggies host Lone Star Conference South Division rival Texas A&M-Commerce in an afternoon contest scheduled to tipoff at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 6. The game will be followed by a men's contest at 4.
