RICHARDSON, Texas - For the second time this season, Cameron's Chad Crawford has been selected as the Lone Star Conference North Division men's basketball Player of the Week, according to a release by conference officials. Crawford earned the award for his effort as the Aggies went 1-1 at last week's High Desert Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. Crawford also was named the LSC North Player of the Week on Dec. 1.
A 6-4 senior forward from Indianapolis, Crawford averaged 13.5 points and shot better than 63 percent from the field in two games last week. In an 88-84 victory over Missouri Western State College on Saturday, Crawford was 8-of-10 from the floor, posting 19 points and a team-high seven rebounds. He also had two assists and recorded the team's only blocked shot of the game. In a loss to Central Missouri State the previous day, Crawford was 4-of-9 from the field with a team-high eight points.
Through nine games, Crawford leads the Aggies and ranks among the Lone Star Conference leaders with 17.6 points per game. He also leads Cameron with 7.1 rebounds a game and has a season field goal percentage of .642.
Cameron (5-4) returns to action on Dec. 30. Coach Garrette Mantle's Aggies will travel to Nacogdoches, Texas, to take on NCAA Division I Stephen F.
