RICHARDSON, Texas (Feb. 17) -- Cameron senior Kimberle Woods has been named the Lone Star Conference North Division Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, according to a release by conference officials.
A 5-9 forward from Dallas, Texas, Woods averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game last week, as Coach Dick Halterman's Lady Aggies picked up a pair of critical conference victories over Southwestern Oklahoma and Tarleton State. She made 16 of 24 field goal attempts (67 percent) while adding six assists, two blocked shots and two steals as Cameron improved to 12-11 overall and 5-3 in the LSC North.
In Tuesday's win over Southwestern, Woods hit 9-of-12 from the field, finishing with 23 points and nine rebounds. She followed that with 17 points and 11 boards in the victory over Tarleton State on Thursday.
Woods, who also won the weekly conference award earlier this season on Dec. 8, shared this week's honor with Tarleton State forward Katie Crawford.
Cameron returns to conference action on Thursday, hosting East Central University in a matchup scheduled to tipoff at 6 p.m., at Cameron's Aggie Gym. The game will be followed by a men's contest at 8. Both games are sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents of Lawton.
