Lady Aggies top Eastern New Mexico
PORTALES, N.M. (April 2) - Coach James Helvey's Cameron women's tennis squad ran its season record to 11-5 on Friday. The Lady Aggies won two of three doubles matches against Eastern New Mexico, then cruised through singles play to score a 7-2 victory over the Zias.
Both Cameron teams will return home on April 6, hosting junior college powerhouse Collin County Comminty College in a meet scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
Cameron's five singles victories on Friday all came in straight sets. Corsicana, Texas, junior Taylor Ivie posted a 6-1, 6-1, win at the No. 6 singles spot, while Madeley Ameerali won 6-1, 6-2, at No. 5. Marianne Reeves cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4, as well.
