University of Texas at Arlington transfer Joneatta Brown is the latest recruit committed to join the Cameron University women's basketball team for the coming season. Lady Aggie head coach Dick Halterman this week announced the signing of Brown, a 6-4 junior center from Conroe, Texas.

Brown saw limited action in two seasons at UTA, appearing in 29 games while averaging 1.6 points and 1.5 rebounds. As a sophomore, she played 29 minutes and converted 5 of 11 field goal attempts in 10 games with the Lady Mavs. She also added 15 rebounds and two blocks. During her freshman campaign, Brown averaged 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds and appeared in 19 games, including a career-best five-point, four-rebound effort in a win over Sam Houston State.

A three-year starter at Conroe High School, Brown earned all-district honors, as well as team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards after averaging better than 12 points a game as a senior. She also was a four-year member of the CHS track team.

Brown would be the tallest Lady Aggie to play for Halterman and the tallest on the team since 6-4 senior Megan Carter suited up during the 2001-02 season after earning all-region honors earlier that year as a middle blocker on the Cameron volleyball squad.
