Reinhart picks up second straight LSC honor

RICHARDSON, Texas (Oct. 5) - For the second consecutive week, Cameron middle blocker Nicole Reinhart has been named the Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Player of the Week. The senior from Rosalind, Alberta, picked up the award following her outstanding performance as the Aggies opened conference play with victories over Southeastern Oklahoma and Texas A&M-Commerce last week.

In Thursday’s win over Southeastern, Reinhart posted a .500 attack percentage with 13 kills and just two errors in 22 attempts. She added two digs and four blocks. On Saturday against Texas A&M-Commerce, she hit .481 with 15 kills and two errors in 27 attempts, adding three digs and four blocks. For the week, Reinhart hit .490, averaging 4.0 kills per game.

The effort vaulted Reinhart into the list of Lone Star Conference statistical leaders, as well. She currently ranks eighth in the league in hitting percentage (.273) and is one of only two players in the conference to average at least one block per game so far this season. Reinhart now has 73 total blocks, including 12 solo stops, in 73 games played.

Cameron players have won six LSC North Player of the Week awards this season. In addition to Reinhart’s two offensive awards, senior libero Jenny Head has been selected the division’s Defensive Player of the Week three times, while sophomore setter Vicki Ibarra was named the Setter of the Week on Sept. 20.

Reinhart and the Aggies are scheduled to continue Lone Star Conference North Division play with a pair of road contests this week. Coach Kim Vinson's squad crosses the Red River on Thursday to face Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas, before continuing on to Denton, Texas, to take on Texas Woman's University on Saturday.
