Aggie win streak reaches eight

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Oct. 26) - Cameron had another efficient effort at the net, posting a team hitting percentage of .364 in a 3-0 sweep over Tarleton State on the road Tuesday night. Five Aggie players registered seven or more kills in the match, which marked the eighth straight win for coach Kim Vinson's squad.

The Aggies won by scores of 30-24, 31-29, 30-24, improving to 16-10 with their 15th victory in the last 17 outings. Tarleton State, which lost to Cameron for the third time this season, fell to 16-14.

As a team, Cameron committed just eight attack errors Tuesday night. Tarleton State, meanwhile, recorded five more kills and 10 more assists in the match, but racked up 27 hitting errors to go along with 13 service errors. The Aggies also out-blocked their opponent for the eighth straight match, owning a 12-4 blocking advantage at the net.

Senior Morgan Meyer led the Aggies with 11 kills Tuesday.
Sophomore Tayler Turner and senior Nicole Reinhart each posted nine kills and five blocks for the Aggies, while Taran Turner had a match-high six blocks, including one solo stop, to go along with seven kills.

Junior Rachel Balsiger added seven kills and a match-high 11 digs and sophomore Vicki Ibarra dished out 37 assists in the winning effort.

Tarleton State got 18 kills from Missy Davis and 45 assists from Nikki Bonnet.

Cameron returns to Lone Star Conference North Division action later this week with a chance to clinch the No. 1 seed in the upcoming LSC championship tournament with the final two home matches of the regular season. The Aggies will take on Texas Woman's University on Thursday at 7 p.m., before hosting Midwestern State on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both contests will be played at Cameron' Aggie Gym.
