Volleyball extends win streak to 11

DALLAS, Texas (Nov. 2) - Morgan Meyer posted a match-high 22 kills and Tayler Turner and Rachel Balsiger added 14 each, as the Cameron volleyball team rolled to its 11th consecutive victory with a 3-1 decision over Dallas Baptist Tuesday.

Coach Kim Vinson's Aggies posted 14 team blocks in the match, winning by scores of 30-24, 27-30, 30-22, 30-21. The victory upped Cameron's record to 19-10 overall with one match remaining on the regular season schedule.

Cameron dominated every statistical category in the match Tuesday, limiting DBU to a .112 hitting percentage while posting its own hitting mark of .225. The Aggies also out-blocked the Patriots 14-8 and led the match with 11 services aces, 62 assists and 89 digs.

Meyer continued to pace the Aggie offense, converting 22 of her 53 hitting attempts. The Alvin, Texas, native also added three aces and two assisted blocks. Sophomore setter Vicki Ibarra handed out 57 assists (14.25 per game) and senior libero Jenny Head racked up 26 digs.

Dallas Baptist got 16 kills and six blocks (five solo) from Brandi Moss.

Cameron will look to complete a sweep of Lone Star Conference North Division competiton Thursday, concluding the regular season at Central Oklahoma. The Aggies have already locked up the LSC North Division title for the fifth time in the last seven seasons and will serve as the host school for next week's LSC championship tournament.

The Aggies will be the No. 1 seed from the North Division in the event, earning a first-round bye in to the event semifinals, which are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 12. Abilene Christian, which posted a 3-0 victory over Angelo State on Tuesday, will be the top seed from the LSC South.

Action in the six-team conference tournament is scheduled to begin with quarterfinal action on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Cameron's Aggie Gym. Click here for a complete tournament schedule.
