Mihecoby named LSC Hitter of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas (April 5) – Cameron’s Derrick Mihecoby has been selected as this week’s Lone Star Conference North Division baseball Hitter of the Week, according to a release by conference officials. The senior outfielder from Elgin picked up the award for his role in leading the Aggies to five conference victories last week and a spot atop the LSC North standings.

Mihecoby finished the week 11-for-22 (.500) at the plate with two doubles, three homers and 10 runs batted in. He also scored 11 runs while improving his conference-leading batting average to .474 for the season. In a 19-10 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, Mihecoby went 4-for-5 at the plate with a home run and four RBI.

Cameron (19-11, 5-0 LSC North) returns to action at home Wednesday, taking on 13^th-ranked Central Oklahoma. First pitch in the doubleheader at Cameron’s McCord Field is scheduled for 2 p.m.
