Lady Aggies finish 12th at Hill Country Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Feb. 26) - Laura Madden just missed an individual Top 20 finish on Sunday, leading the Cameron women's golf team to a 12th-place showing at the St. Mary's Lady Rattler Hill Country Classic at The Golf Club of Texas.

Madden fired a two-round total of 161 (+17) to finish in a tie for 23rd individually, while Cameron posted a team score of 678 on the par-72, 5,865-yard layout. Cameron, which is in its first season of women's golf competition, finished fourth among seven Lone Star Conference participants in the 19-team field.

Madden turned in Cameron's low score in each of the two rounds of the event, carding an eight-over 80 on Satuday before posting an 81 on Sunday. Lauren Gonzales was the Lady Aggies' next finisher, posting a two-round total of 172. Renee Breeze finished at 174 and Krystle McCorgary shot 178. Devri Morgan rounded out the Cameron team scoring with a 186 total, while Jennifer Madden played unattached and posted a 190 score.

Western Washington won the team title at the event, finishing with a combined 29-over-par score of 605 to best runner-up Northeastern State by six strokes. Tonya Choate of Drury won the individual title, shooting a four-over 148 over two rounds.
