COMPLETE RESULTSť

AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 28) - Travis Lovins rallied for a final-round 71 and helped lead the Cameron men's golf team to a third-place showing at the St. Edward's Spring Invitational. The Aggies finished with a three-round total of 914, 13 strokes back of tournament champion Northeastern State.

Lovins, who carded a throw-away 82 in Monday's second round, finished fifth individually to lead a group of four Aggie players among the individual Top 10. Matt Trammel joined Lovins in a tie for fifth with a total score of 228. Peter Svajlen finished just a stroke back in ninth individually, while Owen Mahaffey finished tied for 10th at 230.

Cameron shared the opening-round lead with Central Oklahoma on Monday, as both teams posted a wind-driven team score of 304. The blustery conditions continued into the afternoon, as the Aggies carded a 309 to fall eight shots behind NSU into third place. UCO held a four-stroke cushion over the Aggies for second place heading into the final round. Both teams turned in team scores of 301 on Tuesday and failed to make up any ground on the Redmen, who posted the low team score of the tournament with a final-round 296.

Tuesday marked Cameron's sixth consecutive Top 3 finish to start the 2005-06 season for Coach Jerry Hrnciar's squad. The Aggies will look to collect their seventh high finish, along with a third team title of the year, next week at the Southern California Intercollegiate. First-round action at the Marbella Country Club in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., begins Monday.
