Chirchir wins event at TSU Relays

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (March 9) - Cameron University cross country runner David Chirchir became the first Aggie to claim an individual title this week, winning the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Tarleton State Relays.

Chirchir, who joined the Aggie squad in January, won with a time of 9:51, while also placing third in the 5,000-meter run.

The freshman from Nairobi, Kenya, led a group of three Aggie runners in the 5,000-meter run. Chirchir finished with a time of 15:24, while Marlow freshman Matt Moreno turned in a time of 16:40. Duncan freshman Jon McMasters finished the race in 17:18.
