LAWTON, Okla. (April 11) - The Cameron men's tennis team won for the seventh time in its last eight matches and the Lady Aggies won their third straight Tuesday at the CU Tennis Complex. Both teams won in convincing fashion over Southeastern Oklahoma, with the men blanking the Savages 9-0 and the Lady Aggies posting a 7-2 win.
Cameron swept all six doubles matches on the day, as both teams jumped out to 3-0 leads.
The Aggie men continued their dominance in singles play, with all six players winning their respective matches in straight sets. Jordi Mullor and David Detudamo were first off the courts for the Aggies in singles play. Mullor won the No. 4 bout 6-0, 6-1, over SOSU's Jeff Aldridge, while Detudamo posted identical scores in his No. 6 match with Gray Garza.
Kim Romero led the Lady Aggies in singles play, blanking SOSU's Lisa Donahue, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 2 slot. Southeastern won at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, and threatened to take another point before Mehgan Goforth rallied for a three-set win at No. 5.
Both Cameron teams resume action later this week at the annual Broncho Invitational, hosted by Central Oklahoma. Both teams will play three matches over two days beginning Friday in the multi-team event played at several sites throughout the Edmond and Oklahoma City area.
