Aggie Cross Country strikes again
LAWTON, Okla. (September 21) - The Cameron Cross Country team competed in a dual against the Southwest Oklahoma Walking/Running Club last night at Elmore Thomas Park. The Aggies ran five runners and defeated the SWOWRC by a score of 22-24.
Freshman runner David Chirchir continued to speed past the competition and finished the race in a tie for first place with Corey DuQuette, who ran for SWOWRC, with a time of 15:29.
Chirchir was also named the Lone Star Conference Male Runner of the Week after his impressive performance at last week's East Central University Tiger Chase in Ada. Chirchir looks to have an unbelievable year having already won three events.
Cameron runner George Njuguna finished 5th for the Aggies with a time of 16:38. Sean Richmond and Ben Ware finished 7th and 8th, respectively, and were the only other runners to finish with times under twenty minutes.
Head Coach Matt Aguero's squad did not compete in the Missouri Southern State College Stampede last weekend as indicated on their Fall 2006 Schedule.
The Aggies next travel to Stillwater to compete in the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree on September 30th.
