Cross Country sweeps SWOWRC
LAWTON, Okla. (October 11) – The Cameron Aggie cross country team took on the Southwest Oklahoma Walking/Running Club for the second time this season last Friday. The meet was a three-mile dual and was open to the public. The Ags won the first meeting by a score of 22-23, and were looking for a repeat performance.
Head coach Matt Aguero’s squad did indeed win the event, crushing the SWORWC by a score of 23-32. “The meet went pretty well,” head coach Matt Aguero said. “(George) Njuguna ran a really easy race, and David (Chirchir) ran great. Overall I’m pretty pleased with our performance.”
Cameron’s No. 3 runner Sean Richmond was out with an injury, but the Ags were still able to pull off the victory.
The Aggies travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in this weekend’s University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival. Coach Aguero vows his team is training very hard in preparation for their first 10-kilometer meet of the season.
