Sports Information Director Craig Martin
Craig Martin started as the Sports Information Director at
Cameron
University in August of 2006, after graduating from the
University of
Oklahoma that summer. He is currently in his third year with the Athletic Department and is also working on his MBA at Cameron.
While at OU, Martin worked closely with the Athletic Department and wrote for numerous sporting publications including the university paper, the Oklahoma Daily. His experience in intercollegiate athletics and media relations are a great addition to the Cameron University Athletic Department.
Martin graduated from OU with a degree in Business Management, but started out as a Sports Management major at
Texas
A&M
University. His concentration on marketing, media, and sports business, in addition to his internships with both the Fort Worth Cats and Oklahoma Redhawks minor league baseball teams, has helped him to gain experience in nearly all aspects of both professional and collegiate athletics.
Originally from
Colleyville, Texas, Martin brings innovative promotional ideas that he hopes will help increase exposure of the Cameron Aggies. While interning with the OU Athletics Marketing Department, Martin spearheaded an ingenious ?Tax-Night? theme at a Sooner baseball game that was featured in the USA Today. He also established an annual antique car show that has attracted some of the rarest automobiles in the country.
Martin has always known he wanted to work in athletics, and religiously follows the Oklahoma Sooners, the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Green Bay Packers. When he is not in the athletic office working on statistics, promotions, media guides, or the Cameron Athletics website, he spends his time playing golf, reading, and grilling.
Martin and his wife Robin live in
Lawton with their American Bulldog, Lambeau Field, and their White Labrador Retriever, Texas.
