 Aggies end season in regional finals LAWTON, Oklahoma (May 8) – In the sweltering heat out at the Cameron University Tennis Complex, the #15 Aggie men’s tennis team fell to the #19 St. Edward’s Hilltoppers for the second time this season. Today’s 5-4 loss ends CU’s season in the NCAA Division II regional championship finals. The Aggies were hosting the regional event for the second consecutive season. #11 Aggies fall in LSC title match WICHITA FALLS, Texas (April 24) – Unable to make it consecutive Lone Star Conference Championship titles, the #11 Cameron Aggie men’s tennis team (20-9) fell in a hard-fought match today in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Abilene Christian Wildcats (24-7) defeated the Aggies 5-3 in the championship match of the LSC tournament, played at the Midwestern State University Tennis Complex. FULL STORY>>
Helvey, Pazos lead LSC awards RICHARDSON, Oklahoma (April 22) – For the second consecutive year, Cameron head coach James Helvey was named the Lone Star Conference Men's Tennis Coach of the Year. Helvey, who's #11 squad clinched the 2009 LSC Regular Season Championship, has won the award two years in a row after winning it for the very first time in 2008. Joining Helvey in the list of LSC accolades is Daniel Pazos who was named the LSC Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Pazos, Cristian Easton, and Saman Samii were all also named to the LSC All-Conference team for singles. CU's #1 doubles team of Pazos and Diego Trojano was named to the All-Conference doubles team. Aggie tennis makes All-Academic RICHARDSON, Texas (April 22) – Cameron's Cristian Easton was honored as the 2009 Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year today by the LSC offices. Easton has had an incredible season for the #11 Aggie men's tennis program, and was the squad's lone representative on the LSC All-Academic team. Aggies prey on Cougars with sweep LAWTON, Oklahoma (April 21) – In a final tune-up match before the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament, both Cameron Aggie tennis teams proved they are threats to take the LSC crown. CU faced the cougars from Collin County Community College and the men tormented their CCCC counterparts all afternoon and eventually pulled away with the 9-0 victory. Aggies bring down Patriots with ease LAWTON, Oklahoma (April 20) – The nationally-ranked Cameron Aggie tennis teams conquered the Patriots of Dallas Baptist University in dominating fashion today at the CU Tennis Complex.
