National Championship
All-American Korir finishes 23rd

EVANSVILLE, Indiana (November 21) – Sophomore Julius Korir capped off the greatest cross country season in Cameron University history today with a 23rd place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship. Korir’s time of 32:06.1 was fast enough to earn All-American status, which goes to the top forty runners.

Aggies take 5th, Korir to Nationals
ABILENE, Texas (November 7) – It was a historic day for the regionally-ranked #10 Cameron Aggie cross country team today at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. CU took home 5th place in arguably the toughest region in the nation. What made the afternoon even more exciting was that sophomore runner Julius Korir placed 4th overall, and thus will represent the Black and Gold at the NCAA National Championships.

Fantastic finish for CU at LSC’s
CANYON, Texas (October 24) - The Cameron Aggie cross country team traveled to Canyon, Texas today to participate in the Lone Star Conference Championship meet. Today’s race was 8 kilometers in length and CU finished 4th out of 9 teams. For the first time in school history, the Aggies finished with three All-Conference runners. The top 10 runners to finish are awarded All-Conference status.

Aggies take 19th in Chile Pepper
FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (October 17) – The Cameron Aggie cross country team traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas today to participate in the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival. At the tough race the Aggies finished 19th out of 29 teams, but CU was running in the University Division against some of the nation’s top Division I teams. Today’s race was 10 kilometers in length.

Aguero takes 109th at Chicago Marathon
CHICAGO, Illinois (October 11) – From a struggling road race of 4,200 runners in 1977 to a world-class event with a record 45,000 registered participants in 2009, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon has come a long way. Two Sunday’s ago (October 11), Cameron University’s head cross country coach Matt Aguero traveled to the Windy City to participate in the internationally-acclaimed event.

Aggies run to 14th at OSU Jamboree
STILLWATER, Oklahoma (October 3) – Running against the best competition in the entire nation, the #7 Cameron Aggie cross country team today took part in the prestigious Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State University. CU finished the annual event in 14th place out of 28 schools in the collegiate portion of the meet. Today’s race was 8 kilometers in length.
